Numbers, age, physical descriptions, character introduction and sentence patterns. Cultural lesson: Nuwa.

7–8Weeks

Block 4: Places and Possessions

Possessives, places and extended dialogue. Real-world scenarios. Cultural lesson: Houyi the Archer.

Days of the week, telling the time, and conversational confidence. Cultural lesson: Chang'e.

Dyslexic, and by her own account no one's idea of a star pupil. Then in her thirties she started learning Mandarin and found the characters came naturally, fast enough that her teachers were comparing notes.
